Currently grumpy

Normal service will resume very shortly I hope - got flu - ears full of gunge which makes me dizzy, head hurts, feel achy, can't breath properly - consequently very grumpy and am writing my own sick note. Be back once I'm better.

sorry to hear you are ailing, there are currently Flu jabs available at my works but people who have them all seem to come down with flu after being 'jabbed' I think I'll pass! hope you're better soon.

Oh, wait till you hear the "Kraftwerk" track, bet you never heard it before?

Thanks all - feeling like SHIT and HATE being ill. I did listen to Istvanski and Jif's Krautrock Special which cheered me up greatly. It's very good.

I've just been given a withering look and told "you look really terrible - just go back to bed" in a really unsympathetic way. Good - more license to be grumpy.

Bye for now. (Stomps back off to bed sounding like The Hulk due to only being able to breathe through mouth very loudly)

2:33 pm
Blogger Istvanski said...

Hope you get well soon. If you can't breathe through your 'ooter, try some of that Otrivine spray or Sudafed decongestant nasal snot de-scaler.

When Jif said "there are currently Flu jabs available at my work"...well, they're not really flu jabs, Jif. It's a 'work harder / truth' serum that they inject you with.

6:21 pm
Anonymous Anonymous said...

'Truth serum' maybe that's why I don't want it, the railway has always ran on 95% bullshit, I'll keep my 5% me thinks!

Please get better soon RoMoster. I'd recommend Day and Night Nurse. That stuff is just brilliant. Knocks you out and makes all the pain go away. I'd thoroughly recommend it.

Get well soon my lovelyxx

Cheers Ister, Jifster and Mollster - thank god for the t'internet to keep me sane. I've got quite an arsenal of zappers, deconwotsits and sent out earlier for those special balsam tissues that don't sandpaper your nose! I might resort to Benylin4flu mixture which is some form of legalised opiate I am sure. Last time I had it I felt like I did after I had diamorphine in hospital. Goodness - it could save Pete Docherty a fortune - if only he knew. Anyway - perhaps I'll have a slug of that and get podcasting from my sickbed - the effects would be interesting I am sure! Mind you - reading this I am half delirious anyway so perhaps not!

Thanks everyone xxx

Damn, I just missed you. Do you know what I've been doing? I've just listened to all of the Listen with Rockmothers back to back. That's why I'm back here because I've got one more to go. It has made me feel happy after a mizzy day of rain. And a fox did a big poo outside my back door. You should do a sniffle poocast from your bed. That would be good. Get some ruffling sheets in there. That would be really good. And perhaps some nose-blows.

8:27 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

Delirious diamorphine sniffle poocast.

8:28 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

Oh no - I think I've just missed you Molly! goodness you are brave listening to all the Romocasts back to back - are you mad?!

I have actually poocasted from bed before - I quite like it - it feels quite decadent sitting up in bed podcasting with a cup of tea and some chocolate in between takes!

Maybe tomorrow - I've got sucked into watching the X factor (I am ill - I am allowed). xxxxx

The singing was rather marvellous actually...we should do a duet.

I bet you've sunk back onto your pillow now. That's really nice when you are ill and the pillow feels cold. Almost as good as when you wash the duvet and all the sheets and it's all clean and nice.

And someone brings you really nice drinks....like Ribena and Lucozade.

Oh...Robert should stay in. He was nearly crying then.

8:40 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

Much better voice too. How sad are we? Well....me actually.

8:42 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

Ooh, I just missed you by a tiny hair. What kind of hair I don't know. Sending big hugs and extra strong lemsips and Strepsils that make your tongue go numb. And leave an orangey stain...or is that something else? Only joking!

8:43 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

I'm here I'm here - I went off to yours to tell Dr Ant he isn't dyslexic.

8:47 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

I reckon you can tell within the first couple of bars - 4sure were terrible! You could tell Robert was home and dry as soon as he had sung the forst three qwords

8:48 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

I shall just stay here and talk to myself...you know...you might come back.

I could set myself a quiz.

Mollster - what are you thinking right now?

I'm thinking that I would like to be able to wear that green dress.

RoMo - what are you thinking right now?

Mollster - what are wearing?

I'm wearing black. All black. But I have a green bracelet on too.

RoMo - what are you wearing?

Mollster - what did you do today?

I wrote sixteen lesson plans and watched the rain. Then I looked sadly at the poo outside my back door. Then I listened to RoMo's Podcasts Numbers 5-9 and did some blogging.

RoMo - what did you do today?

I told you I was two stops past Dagenham...

Oh I knew if I wrote a quiz she'd come back. Are you in bed? Goodness...Bobster would have a field day if he were here! Look what you missed Bob! Live two in a bed female chat!

Blogger Molly Bloom said...

Oh I'm glad that Robert got in. I thin that he was a bit tearful again afterwards. Who is your fave then?

8:51 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

I'm wearing a wincyette (is that brushed cotton - if it isn't then that's wrong soory) anyway - brushed cotton pyjama top, jean and ugg boots. Did have pyjama bottoms on earlier but thought I'd put jeans on to make myself feel less ill! Yes - I love the feel of cold pillow when you are all feverish

8:52 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

I hope that you are feeling ok. Flu is really horrible and makes you feel like pants. I hope you've got some nice things like hot drinks and Night Nurse.

Blogger the whales said...

i'm never around for the real time conversations! RoMo - get well soon. I'm waiting for another podcast as good as #3 that had "barry manilow for dick headley's sake", and in particular for your intervention near the start:-

"Come on, stick with it, you know you can do it!"

Come on, RoMo, stick with it!...

8:53 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

I'm not really sure who my favourite is - the pretty girl with curly hair is ok but annoying as it is so obvious that Simon Cowell fancies her. I quite like Ashley because he's winging it...eton road were good this week - oh my god I"M SO SAD!!! This must stop.

8:53 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

Hello Whales - stick with it!!

8:54 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

Pyjamas and jeans and Ugg boots. Wincyette. That is really soft isn't it? I hope it has checks on it...the best wincyette has checks on (blue ones) or small unidentifiable pink flowers.

8:55 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

Ooh hello Whalester! Come and talk to us!

I've switched to CSI Special INvestigations now. Oh woopee do!

"it's a miracle, a true blue spectacle..."

The horror. I keep replaying it. I'm dreaming about it.

8:57 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

I can't even remember their names. What a pity that 10 year old who cried all the time went. He was really sweet.

Yes, curly hair will probably do it. But Rod Stewart ain't so good.

8:57 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

Ooh CSI. I am in love with Gil Grissam.

8:58 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

Molly = you are more than I - it IS checks - pink, purple, blue, yellow lines on white to make checks courtesy of calvin Klein (one of last years practical yet really boring christmas presents).

8:58 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

I meant to say - you are more a witch than I! Maybe I am dyslexic after all!

8:59 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

I've just realised you're going to get lots of Google searches now for live chat. Oops. Sorry.

8:59 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

Oh I hated that little 11 year old on X facot - he was silly - he had Z factor.

Whales - I am actually a secret Barry fan - what do you mean the horror? Dickley was mnost upset with me but I needed to retain some street cred! x

9:00 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

What are you dreaming about Whalester? CSI or something else?

9:00 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

or even 2 female twosome live chat - bob swipe will be the first to get here I am sure! ha ha.

9:01 pm
Blogger the whales said...

i think i'm missing the conversation here, what are you talking about? Over here it's Romo #3, but it sounds like you're talking...ummm...X-factor (or a tv thing) or..umm...wincyette? You've lost me.

But i will say this - Bob Swipe is missing out on you both!

9:01 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

Oh...the song...sorry..I'm more than a bit slow...as you've probably noticed.

Will you do a sniffle podcast for us?

9:02 pm

I'm following two lines of conversation - molly;s which was about x factor as wee are sad and commenting live via comments here and you Whales who are talking to me about Barry

9:03 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

and I was telling molly about my pyjamas - oh it's so boring - don't worry!

9:03 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

I'll probably get locked out again like I did when I was doing the quiz. Oh dear...why am I getting tearful thinking about that? That was so long ago...but such fun. So much has happened since then....excuse me....tissue alert.

9:04 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

I might have to go soon as food is being prepared for me! Very late to eat I know but I don't care.

9:04 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

I don't have any pyjamas.

9:05 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

I've got those proper balsam ones - here you are - I've got a multipack! I was only thinking of the quiz the other day - it was SO MUCH FUN!

9:05 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

You go and have some nice dinner RoMoster. I'm just glad that I caught you so that I could say 'Get Well Soon' in person as it were.

9:06 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

I've only got these as I was given them. Usually wear the 40's satin slip but was too chilled to wear it today.

9:06 pm
Blogger the whales said...

Molly, the thing i keep dreaming about isn't visual, it's a song. Every time i wake up. Unfortunately, "it's a miracle, a true blue" etc...

RoMo - the horror - i didn't realise that song was so catchy. And "all but one of you wincing"...actually i wanted to hear the rest of it!

You two need to stop talking about what you're wearing...Swipe will be all over this tomorrow.

9:06 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

Take great care - I wish you were here having food with us too - lots of love xxx

9:06 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

Just tell me what you are going to eat. I hope it is 'ill' food. That always makes me laugh. People always think that when you are ill, you will want to eat dry toast and dry mashed potato and Heinz tomato soup, which always burns your throat after the third mouthful. Strange that.

9:07 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

Ok Whalester...what shall we talk about instead?

9:08 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

Whalester - I'll confess all on the next podcast and play it in it's entirety I promise. I used to giggle my way through his tv specials but a bit like Duran Duran - one day I realised I knew all the words and realised I was a major Barry fan!

9:08 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

40's satin slip. *Sigh*

Look, you go and have your tea matey and take care of yourselfxxxx Have a good rest and don't get up until 12 tomorrow.

9:09 pm

Actually I'm having chickpea and spinach curry with quinoa (because I am addicted to it) and goats yoghurt. (No I am not a hippy I swear!)

9:09 pm
Blogger Molly Bloom said...

That sounds really, really nice. Cor! I do wish I was there. That should build up your strength.

9:11 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

Thank you - I will - hope you are ok. xx Whalester - thanks for dropping by. Hope things alright and not too hideous for you. I was daydreaming the other day and thinking I might just have a very big party at some point and invite you all.

9:12 pm

I'm glad that Whalester stopped by. I hope you are ok Whalester.

9:12 pm

Now i'm starving, all this talk of food - where's *my* dinner!

Off to get something to eat. Molly, you worked too much today. 19 lesson plans? Too much. Give yourself a day off tomorrow?

RoMo - get well soon. Sooner.

Ta ra both of you, i'm off to investigate the fridge.

Feeling better? That is good news. The level of concern here is quite remarkable. I think I'm coming down with something.

3:22 pm
Blogger rockmother said...

Dickley - thank you and I know - such concern! I'm very honoured. I've just been out for a walk in the rain with a weatherproof on all wrapped up (don't get cross realdoc!) and have come home feeling a bit headswimmy. Hope you don't come down with anything.

Nancy was starting to flag, her temperature was high and her feet were blistered. Still, she walked on, past the beautiful eyes and the soft mother of music. She climbed up into her bed and popped the starlight into the wincyette pyjama for safe-keeping. A tired lullaby moment.

now go to part 33.
