Everybody Do The Bus Stop

Thanks to Roberta Swipe's latest most fantastic podcast I did this in my kitchen earlier today.
Couldn't help it. Dirk Diggler (Mark Wahlberg) also does a fine bus stop in Boogie Nights.
Mine's the 33 to Richmond. Everybody do the bus stop!

Ah yes 'Boogie Nights'. One of my favorite movies. Overlooked by serious critics, because of the subject matter most likely. Burt Reynolds was excellent in that. I had to revise my opinion of him.

Dickley - yes - mine too. Boogie Nights was so well observed. Burt was just right although I've only ever liked him in Deliverance and Boogie Nights - can take or leave his others. A beautifully measured performance from Philip Seymour Hoffman and the Alfred Molina/Sister Christian scene appeals greatly to my sick sense of humour. I've often wondered if they based that particular character on John Holmes and the 'Wonderland murders'. The combination madness - heavy drugs, bullets and loud rousing rock seems very similar to tales of the Holmes scenario. The music was great - everything was great - in fact - I might watch it again now you have brought it up.

Yes indeed rm. John Holmes was definitely a factor. So was Harry Reems I imagine...now living quietly in Colorado, selling real estate and occasionally emerging at film festivals to discuss the aesthetics of porn.

'Boogie Nights' was my kind of movie. Along with 'Lost in Translation', 'Laurel Canyon' and a few others.

Dickley - I cried at the end of Lost In Translation. I had jet lag at the time which probably didn't help.

Rockmother, I must say I'm loving your blog, as ever when I occasionally look at it.
Couldn't help noticing that the video you posted on Tues 21st November 2006 of Mr Richards came with no credit for me, as I was the person who introduced you to above mentioned video.

Lots of love you wonderful Maguffin assistant.

Thom - be quiet! I'm in tomorrow - I expect fanfares at the door and my desk to be polished. And thank you for showing me that clip of Keith being the best. xxx

Jif - how does that go then?

The Bus Stop requires physical exertion and is thus not appropriate for the permanently prostrate.

Morning RoMo..up ya get..c'mon..the garden shed? it's easy, any time you are at a party and people are hassling you to dance...just 'lean' up against the kitchen worktop and announce that you are in fact doin' the garden shed!

oh...and what's all this fear for ones sanity all about?

Stop blogging forever? what's going on....don't do a Molly on us all.

Ooh, I'm wearing exactly the same halterneck dress as the woman who's doing the bus stop, and my hair's looking just like that after being under the Carmen rollers!

Mine's the 96 to Bluewater. Hope to see Jodie Marsh there.

Typical. You wait ages for one tune and then all of a sudden, 3 of 'em come all at the same time...

Looks a bit complicated for me. I have trouble with the macarena. I'll stick to pogoing and headbanging or aimless shuffling of feet when at gigs.

It was the exactly the same comment as I posted earlier, Blogger was being an arse. The first comment didn't show up so I posted another and then they both showed up at the same time.
