Chinese Lanterns A GoGo

08 Feb 08....

I walk through Chinatown most days.

Yesterday it was beautiful.

Happy Year of The Rat.

Click here for predictions. I'm a Fire Horse - what are you?

Here is something rat orientated - amazing live footage of The Stranglers performing at the Battersea Park Festival in 1978. The tenuous link is that one of the first album's I ever bought is still one of my all time favourites - Rattus Norvegicus.

Wasn't that great?

Great song, ...
-----------
Golden brown texture like sun
Lays me down WITH my mind she runs
Throughout the night
No need to fight
Never a frown with golden brown
---
been there
done that
pub to pub
for the meet
every time changed
too much heat
all for golden brown
-------------------------------
I’m a -
…………shining with all values known
dazzling you-keeping you from your own
where is the lion in you to defy him
when you're this weak
and this spacey - Dragon.
Certainly looks like a beautiful blue sky, and how apt, unconsciously I’d guess, to correlate Chinatown and The Stranglers. What is going on in your mind Mother?
You can’t even go for a walk these without someone questioning it, but sure that is half the fun, is it not?
-----------
great group The Stranglers.

Seanster - yes indeed it is a great song. I was going to post up Year of the Cat by Al Stewart - perhaps I'll do that anyway? It was the only song that came to mind despite it being year of the rat. Then I did a search on Rattus Norvegicus. Lots of people's pet rat films came up on you tube. In amongst that I then got lost for at least half an hour in Stranglers footage. A virtual meander through my mind - lots of thoughts going off all at once like fireworks. I was reading last night and singing a song in my head at the same time. It was really weird. I took it as a sign to stop everything and go to sleep! Look at me - I'm rambling again. I walk through chinatown most days as that is the preferred route to work.

Annie - thank you. I took better ones today on the proper camera instead of my phone. I took the Squidget up to Chinatown to see the parade and fireworks that Ken Livingstone's nincompoops published in their guide to On London China Celebrations as happening today. Apparently an error - it's TOMORROW. One very disappointed ginger child and one tired mother that have to do it all again tomorrow. H A L P. Would I be a bad mother if I told him it was all cancelled?

Yes.

I'll take him. He was so looking forward to it. But we still had fun - bought lots of those firecrackers and threw them at tourists to see if they would jump!

.... and I don't why he swallowed the rat
perhaps that's-where-its-at.
Pete Seeger just came into my mind
(but then he would- known as Stalin's Songbird)I imagine everytime he opened his guitar case Peter Paul, and Mary would pop out signing- (you love blow, and we love) "Puff the magic ..."
Pete: "if I had a hammer, I'd, I'd ..."
PP&M: I'd hammer in the morning, hammer in the evening ..."
Pete: "O fuck off."
Stop!
--------
"singing a song in my head at the same time. It was really weird...."
Would you look at what goes through my head, and you think you're weird?
;-) ;-)

You're a fire hose? I clicked on the site and it predicted I was a Feng Shui store...what a swizz!

I recall Battersea Park getting an eyeful when they played Nice 'n' Sleazy.

Ister - how did I know you would say that? Fire hose indeed. Are you facing South? Isn't that what you have to do to make everything better?
