My Monday Morning Ipod Shuffle

Just like a deck of randomly falling cards - the ipod's first three tracks this morning were........

Interzone by Joy Division

You Don't Know What Love Is by Chet Baker

Policecar by Larry Wallis

and then I ended up playing this on heavy rotation very loud....

Flooded by Von Sudenfed

Mark E Smith should be Mayor Of London - that would sort us all right out-ahh!

Comparing Boris Johnson to Mark E Smith I know which one I prefer... "Are you the DJ?"

Is that you on the roulette wheel, RoMo?

I like this random mix. I can't even think of the word to describe Chet Baker's voice - haunting? Eerie? Had never heard von Sudenfed before - Mark E Smith in drum n bass mashup? (Nearly wrote drub n mass - an entirely new genre.)

I can't be bothered with iPod's and Mp3 players. It just doesn't seem 'connected' to my ears. But then again I am a fogey.

I like Von Sudafed. It's like a primitive Junkie XL, lots of grit.

Just came to see if anything was on and sure enough- great I'll pop back after work, or in work as I usually do, but today there's alot on. I'll be back some time today. Look forward to it Darling Mum;-)

Billster - that Boris Johnson clip is hilarious. Jeremy Paxman at his best. The Mayor campaign is very depressing - I feel a march coming on..

Annie - oh yes - that's me on the left with all the chips! Black 24. Chet Baker is another forgotten hero genius - I will make you a little compilation if you would like to hear more. Von Sudenfed is fab - stuff the kids - I hope I'm making music like that when I'm 50! Bringing drub to the masses - yay!

Axe Victim - aha you old fogey you. I didn't have it in my ears - I was transmitting it via an itrip to the hifi so I could rattle the house foundations by turning it all up to 11 and listening in glorious 'dobly' whilst 'working from home'!

Istvanski - yes - I think it's really interesting and makes me want to tell the kids that break vodka bottles in the childrens area of my local park to fuck off really LOUDLY!

Momo Madsters - oh yes - it's all going on here Momo. Play the last one really loud to the whole office I dare you. x

”Love Will Tear Us Apart," ah what a song that was (poor old Ian)
Thought I must say Paul Young later did a fantastic cover- to a new level. I didn’t see either 24 Hour Party People or Control. I wonder could I fish them out from somewhere in this wilderness. However I do like myth over reality; in fact I sometimes wonder if myth is the reality of our existence. O God, I’m getting deep now watch out. I have to be careful I usually dig too deep, and fall in with great difficulty getting back out. Me and Ian would have got on well togther I’d say;-)

Chet RIP melancholy jazz …. That’s me; give me a nice summer evening, a bottle, and me friend Charley and I’m in heaven. (”Dora says have children, Mama, and betty say find, and help another charity. Help the needy and crippled, or put sometime into ecology, there’s a wide wide world of noble causes, and lots of lovely landscapes to discover, but all I want to do right now is find another lover.”)
Larry’s a bit of a pink Fairy if you ask me.
Von sudenfed /// you’re the DJ tonight rock mother.
I’m off to Mars. I flooded the office- got sacked- I guess there must be millions of mice there now.
Ah there he comes up again John Peel, and The Fall. M. E Smith.
God what am I one about. I just don't know. I just get brain flashes. I'm not responible really for what comes out- forgive me.
GREAT SOUNDS. LOVED EVERY CROTCHET WITH EVERY NOTE THERE-ON;-) ;-)

what a great packet of three - I had 'I Can Hear The Grass Grow' by The Fall shuffle up last week - I didn't even know it was on my player.

Vivienne Westwood should run for London Mayor.

Momo Madster - I read that as I loved every crochet! I think I need to go and do macrame. Why is macrame called macrame? See - I get brain flashes too - I know exactly what you mean. I'm glad you flooded the office. I am working with Mark E Smith next week - should be interesting. Get Control out on dvd - it's brilliant. Very understated and beautifully shot. I loved it.

Mr Mondo Bongo - oh I like that when things crop up on the shuffle that you forgot or never knew you had and YES - of course - Vivienne should be bloody Prime Minister if you ask me.

Reggie Darling - oh I'm all confused all these split personalities..anyway..glad you loved it - I shall post up more as I am on a bit of a no doubt OCD-induced Mark E Smith and the Fall tip this week!

The Von Sudenfed album is great actually. There's one track which seems to just be an argument between Mark Smith and (I think) someone who's doing some gardening work next door - "Who's your boss? You do realise it's only eight o'clock don't you?" or words to that effect. Brilliant.

Say you got that ipod well trained RM... mine gave me minutes 13 to 15 of the Mighty Boosh Radio Series Episode 3, the only bad track on the Stone Roses 1st album (it's basically Waterfall played backwards!) and some classical toon that was pre-loaded on the thing when I bought it!!

Dickley - It's not a turd - it's just speed and a some Holstein Pils

Momo Madster - As in Granny Takes A Trip? Or am I being too clever here?

Betty - Yes - I really like the Von Sudenfed album alot. I was wondering whether I would like it as much if Mark E Smith wasn't involved. I think not. He adds the je ne sais quoi if you ask me

Savmarshmamamama - glad you liked and glad you did your thing too - it was great - I commented.

Rivergirlie - yes - I agree - another fantastic talent with terrible demons resulting in no teeth and a heroin habit - a bit like Amy...

Pilester - greetings from Romotowers Piley - nice to see you over here. I think that was a very lucky shuffle - I normally have to skip quite a lot! Oh no - no that, or that, oh god, how did I get that? ;-)

Kimberely - hello to you too Kimbers! Oh good - another Joy Division fan.

Savmarshmamama - oh - stop it now - we are cool here xx

Mr Axeminster - ooh - get you! Have you been drinking by any chance!? Choose your words wisely grasshopper - I may have comments but I am certainly not a slut - you have confused me with Batbitch perhaps?

I trust that you can forgive my rather common outburst back there romo. It would seem that you can take the boy out of the council estate but you cannot take the council estate out of the man. There's probably a song in that me thinks but Morrissey probably got there before me - but that's another story.

Just checkin in on you!! I hope you're having a great week!.....

However does that Iggy keep that body in such great shape??
(How old is he now?)
My favorite song from him besides wild one is "Down On The Street".
