Lovely stuff, Romo.
Enjoy the exhibition.
Love Les and Mary. Wonder if they were a big influence on Joe Meek? Just guesswork - I really ought to know more about those sort of things.

Geoffster - Cheers Geoff. I didn't go to the exhibition - I decided to go without tired child on Monday as I am unemployed forever as from the beg of next week. Oh the joys of being freelance....
Bettster - Yes - they are amazing. There was a great doc last night about Les Paul on BBC4 called Chasing Sound I think. It is repeated tonight very late - try and catch it/tape it etc if you can. Hmmm...I think you are def onto something re: Joe Meek.
That was me - I typed too quick and went all spaccy
Paul Ford is 92 years old now, and every Monday evening he plays live the Iridium Club in New York City. He is just unbelievable.
Superb!
Beautiful ambiance.
You mean Les Paul was a real person ...
Yes, I just bought my daughter a Les Paul uke.
I didn't realise Les Paul was a real person until very recently.
I LOVE this tune - and this clip, been blasting it myself recently - it's so creamydreamy and there's something Donna Summerish about the vocals in the middle section (circa I Feel Love).
PS there's another Les Paul clip worth a peep here (one of the first things I blogged)
Cooperman - wilkommen to Romo Towers! Yes - he is INCREDIBLE. What a guy!
Momo Madster - I know - it is so ethereal and magical - like flying around in the stars
Ivan - are you pulling my leg?!
Col - ooh - cool!
Billster - no - I didn't know anything about him until I saw a brilliant doc on him last week. Up to that point I thought he was just some bloke that made guitars.
Mr Mondomania - I know - it's incredible isn't it? Such a modern sound in a way - he was like a cross between a music scientist, a musician and an inventor. I am blown away by Mary's voice. thanks for the linkage x
