Interlude: Funking For Jamaica in Underwear
I should probably have entitled this post interlube as opposed to interlude - anyway - whilst looking for 70's car adverts for the Austin Princess I stumbled across Legs and Co from 1978 dancing in nothing but french knickers and not much else to Tom Browne's excellent tune Funkin' for Jamaica. Perhaps they ran out of themes for that week and thought 'oh fuck it, we'll just do it in our pants this week shall we girls?'

Harlots in pants hahahaha That would make an excellent name for one of our newer girl bands.
Yikes - have you seen this Pan's People/Buddy Miles clip all sauce and scatter cushions - phewee!
It's random finds like this that make spending too much time on the internet worthwhile.
Yes indeed, very nice though they’re all a little on the skinny and young side for my liking.
I like women more mature and well rounded, but sure if there’s no milk and suger I'll have it as is. I am only human, and you can’t always get what you want.
Realdoc - yes - a damn sight better than girlband or gastricband or whatever they are called
Mr Mondo - ooh - I'll be right over there in a jiffy
Cooperman - I wholeheartedly agree Mr Green
Momo Madster - well it was a long time ago - you are allowed a time machine if you prefer. We have only got sugar cubes I am afraid.
I do it in my pants every week!
Mr Flaming Bloody Obvious - too much information!
What gets me is that they always used to say these displays were "for the dads".
My dad was always at the allotment. Come Dancing was more his thing.
To me, that is what growing up in the late 70s early 80s was all about. Well that and being beaten up 'cos I had hair and flares as well...
Ooh, my sister had that tune, it was one I used to sneak into her room and listen to on her record player when she was out.
I loved Legs & Co and desperately wanted to be in them when I grew up, but that has to be some of the least funkiest choreography ever devised.
Geoff - I know - wouldn't be allowed these days would it?
Howesey - oh dear - poor you - at least you could nurse your woulds watching Pans People/Legs and Co
Annie - yes - me and my best friend always discussed which one was our favourite and we couldn't like the same one otherwise we had to enter some sort of top Trumps trade-off thing. I always preferred Hot Gossip as they looked a bit more naughty and danced far more suggestively!
I'd forgotten that Legs n Co were ever this, erm, cheeky! In the 70's league of cheeky dancers tho, the winners were surely Hot Gossip??!
P
Piley - oh yes - see previous comment - Hot Gossip were the business! I may have to put up a little clip for you!
